Hippity Do!

I still have the empty can that once contained Love Yer Brain hemp-infused blood orange freak-out flavored beverage. I got it at the Flaming Lips Summer Freakout concert at the zoo in Oklahoma City last August. We weren't supposed to drink it off the concert grounds but I smuggled it out. Not only is it a cherished souvenir of those two amazing nights, but I have found it works great as a hair roller! So I just need to order a whole case and drink it and I'll be all set. Love yer Hair!

Like Wearing Sunflowers in January

This is the most magical cardigan I've ever owned. A dreamy cloak that is all fuzzy sunshine, burnt fields, rust, dried grass, brown leaves and bonfire. It's oversized though "extra small" with vast pockets. What a find! I bought it used at Arizona Trading Company in Lawrence, KS, proving once again that  secondhand shops are where you get the most interesting and unique threads. This is the ultimate boho gear for staying warm and cozy and NOT LEAVING THE HOUSE!  Like now, when it's 9 degrees.

I did leave the house in it one time when I wore it to a firepit, where I took just one toke off some military grade doobie and got so high I briefly lost consciousness. After just a few months in my closet this cardigan already has a history with me!

I can't get a good photo in this weak winter lighting of how golden and glorious it is.

But Do Aliens Believe in Me?

Love this gorgeous, spacey nail polish and love its name even more:  But Do Aliens Believe In Me?

The colors and swirls of sparkles evoke galaxies, planets and the tall grays you hope don't show up in your bedroom! I want to paint more than just my nails with this. Can I get this color as a house paint?

Found this polish by Death Valley Nails on the groovy site Wicked Hippie.

Hippie Oasis

Stayed in ths very funky Airbnb called the Hippie Chic Oasis, out in the middle of nowhere in western Kansas. The decor and plants were so groovy it blew my mind!  You can read more about it on my Free the Human Beings blog HERE.

This Rug Is Fire

 Is that a sun?

No, just a cool 1970's era rug that looks like it's bursting with hot plasma and solar radiation.

Zooming in for a closer view....

Areas of  heat ring the nuclear core....

The fringe shoots out like gamma rays....

Closer still, into the maw of the epicenter.......ahhhhhh!!!!!!!

I Love Love Garden

OMG these Love Garden coffee mugs! What if I break them? I have to buy more. I got them at my favorite record store in the world, Love Garden Sounds in Lawrence, Kansas, even better than Amoeba Music in San Francisco, even though Amoeba is pretty awesome.

I have the bumper sticker too.  Probably the only advertisement I'll proudly afix to my car.

Coffee with Kafka

I went to some classic traditional coffeeshops in Vienna that were amazing, although a little stuffy, but I totally missed this totally hip coffeeshop right around the corner from the hotel! Cafe Kafka!

By the time I discovered it there was only time to peer inside and imagine myself settled in and enjoying the cool vibe along with an espresso.

The place has been around since 1908. The translation of their web page describes it as a "stylish cult location" where you can "leave everyday life behind in convivial company."  Convivial!  A great word, adding to the literary aura already invoked by the cafe's namesake.

Happily I did have time to venture into an intriguing bookstore/cafe called "Phil", when my sister Mich and I stumbled upon it one evening.

The sign on the door that greeted us invited us to give ourselve over to a variety of activities. Hmmm....which of these would I do?

The displays were colorful and full of variety, and the soft low lighting did seem conducive to stealing a smooch, if one was so inclined.

And if one was so inclined, a mod, well-stocked bar and bartender were ready to serve.
